My name is John Charles Ricker. I am an artist, writer, speaker, and thinker who lives in Minneapolis.

This blog will evolve as I explore this medium of expression, but I expect it will always contain my photography and art. Some of the art will be straightforward, but over half of it will play with one's perception.

This is a picture of the mine head at Soudan Underground Mine State Park.  This is the sturdy structure that suspends the elevators that take groups into the mine for tours.  It’s a loud and slightly bumpy ride.  U.S. Steel closed the mine in the 1962 and in 1965 they donated the land to Minnesota, which turned it into a state park.  There are over fifty miles of tunnels in the mine.
